After two cup encounters with Didsbury already this season it was the turn of the league .
With Captain Kev Furey missing and in form keeper Tony , away on the ski slopes , you might have thought this was Didsburys best chance to pick up a big win against the premiership leaders .
In came last seasons treble winning keeper Rick, who pulled a string of great saves off in the first 20 minutes , but after that he had a very quite morning . Didsbury soon found out the meaning of having a strong squad ,to there down fall they couldn't live with the pace and movement of Arches .Didsbury who could still finish second in the league , where given a master class in football . with the wind having a say in the game arches went with it in the first half , some great one touch football ripped the didsbury team in half , giving Wolf standing in for Kev a great goal , Mike who is on a hot streak added to the score with an other well worked team goal . with Benty pulling the strings from the left, had didsbury chasing there tails for most of the game .
the back line had didsbury in there pocket for most of the game , protected by The Midfield pairing of Wes And The big bad wolf ,Dave and Mike linked up well With Azz making a rare appearance on the bench coming on for the second half to add to didsbury's misery , Gavin got the Third with an under par performance by his own standards . Then off the bench came Joe ,who ripped the right wing to peaces adding our fourth and shutting up Captain Birdseye .
and last but not least ,Paul Bent scored his 27th goal of the season from the spot .
Arches 5-2 Didsbury . Just shows what happens when you keep the Champs waiting for 35 minutes .
Man of the Match DAVE WILSON ( the Wolf Man ) . great game .
Arches now need just 4 points from 15 to retain there premiership title .
